The Licking County Jail Ministries (LCJM) is a non-profit Christian organization serving the needs of inmates at the Licking County Justice Center in Newark, Ohio since its inception in 1986. The LCJM is led by a volunteer board of directors and guided by a full time chaplain, who is on call 24 hours a day to serve inmates and their families in the following ways:

Spiritual Counsel

We offer spiritual counsel and direction to inmates, both while incarcerated and upon release.

Crisis Intervention

We provide crisis intervention and prayer intercession for inmates and their families.

Staff Support

We provide spiritual support for the Licking County Justice Center's staff.

Be A Friend

Inmates may choose to be assigned to a mentor (gender-specific) who visits with them weekly.

Bible Studies

We oversee, coordinate, and assist with volunteer-led Bible studies.

Worship Services

We lead and coordinate weekly worship services in the Licking County Justice Center.

Release Assistance

We assist inmates with spiritual, housing, transportation, and employment needs upon release.

Vertical 196

Vertical 196 is an outreach facility that offers help with many aspects of establishing new life after release.
